Reviews (${revs.length}):

Competitor of the Polymoog, half organ half synthesizer,  4 octaves with aluminium frame, the ARP OMNI is an "Orchestral String ensemble", Best Seller released in 1975, of the American brand ARP. It can be found for example in David Bowie's album "Low", played by Brian Eno on the track Subterraneans. Also used by Joy Division, Tangerine Dream, Manfred Mann, or Prince or Electric Light Orchestra.

Ultra simple: a STRING section, and a SYNTH section with 2 waveforms. With 4 presets and little editing, so efficient, polyphonic and equipped with the famous ARP filter. The characteristic sound of the strings comes from an exclusive ARP patented 3-way phaser chorus.

Technical caracteristics

Part A: STRING. "Orchestral ensemble String voices" with 4 preset sounds: violin (polyphonic), viola (polyphonic), cello (monophonic), bass (monophonic). Possibility to set "Attack" and "Release".

 Part B: SYNTH

 4' and 8' waveform selection

 8' and 16' bass selection

VCF: frequency, resonance, ADSR depth, LFO depth, foot pedal

 LFO : speed adjustment

Selection of 2 waveforms: saw or dynamic pulse

Classic ADSR with 4 settings (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release).

Gate Out, Trig OUT, stereo output (by combining one of the 2 low/high outputs and the Synthesizer output, you can't invent it).

You can easily find the manual service of the ARP OMNI "Model 2480".
