Art & Lutherie guitars are entirely handcrafted in Canada, from the first step to the last. To be able to say this, and to be able to claim it, is something we are particularly proud of these days! OUR VISION The Art & Lutherie collection focuses on the essential components of the best handcrafted guitars, such as solid tops, quality finishes and the know-how of experienced luthiers, to create high quality guitars that are affordable to all musicians. Each Art & Lutherie guitar is handcrafted in the workshops of the small town of Princeville, Quebec, in an environment that ensures the production of exceptional guitars. Each model is meticulously crafted by the luthiers with the same artistic attention to detail and sound quality. ACOUSTICS The Canadian wood used in the design of the Art & Lutherie line of guitars is renowned for its acoustic qualities. We use only selected wood species: solid Sitka spruce for the tops, cherry for the backs and sides, and silver leaf maple for the necks. All soundboards are pressure tested and calibrated for optimum resonance levels. Cherry produces a sound that is somewhere between the mellow sound of mahogany and the lighter sound of maple. Silver maple, which is very similar in sound, weight and density to mahogany, also provides a very stable neck design.
