The short 30" scale chosen for the instrument reduces the tension on the strings and softens the playing sensation. The result is improved comfort and grip, especially for small hands, but also for guitarists who want to start playing bass without losing their bearings.U5 Alder: comfortable, compact and versatile passiveThe Sire Marcus Miller U5 bass features an alder body with a screwed maple neck and a maple fingerboard with rounded edges. A bridge with through strings allows an exemplary transmission of the vibrations from the strings to the body. To amplify this clear and rich basic sound, the manufacturer has chosen two single-coil pickups, including a split model in the middle position. These are very simply controlled by a volume control, a tone control and a blend pot which allows to precisely manage the mix between the two pickups.
