Delay/echo for T-Rex Engineering guitars, handmade in Denmark. The Replicator is T-Rex Engineering's version of the ultimate tape echo unit, with a motor, magnetic heads and tape cartridge. The aim was to manufacture a tape echo unit that could match the sound quality of the older echo units, but surpass them in terms of features. Size, ease of use and super-fast tape replacement were obvious areas for improvement, but we also introduced tap tempo, two playback heads for three output modes and a chorus mode that modulates the pitch of the echoes. Two expression pedal inputs allow the player to control delay time and real-time feedback for instant synth noise at your feet. The tape cartridge (available separately) can be replaced in seconds, and the circuit's wide range allows you to use this footswitch for line signal processing (keyboards, P.A. aux sends, preamps, etc.) as well. The difference between a super accurate and precise digital echo and the Replicator is that there is a certain unpredictability in the sound of the tape. It has almost a life of its own. And this personality translates into a very natural sound echo that sounds more like an instrument than a sound effect.

The Carbon Copy Mini delivers a warm analog delay and is very easy to use. Well known to guitarists in its original version, the Mini also features a Mod button to simulate a tape echo and a Bright switch to make the repeats brighter for a more punchy mix.

Finally, the Pedalboard offers a hands-free mode for fine-tuning your settings from footswitches and/or an optional expression pedal (sold separately). Natural integration. Let's take a quick tour of the connections available on the back panel of this jewel of technology. From left to right, you have a jack input for connecting your guitar, a 3.5mm minijack auxiliary input for connecting an external audio device, an input for connecting an expression pedal, and a second for an expression pedal switch. On the output side, the footswitch has two 6.35 mm jack outputs, one output for an external amplifier pedal and one 6.35 mm jack headphone output. Finally, for the most demanding guitarists, the Gigboard features two 1/4" stereo send/return jacks for inserting your external pedals into the signal chain, and a 5-pin Midi input/output for linking to any compatible Midi device. Finally, the USB port allows connection to a Mac/Pc computer for data transfer, importing new sound packs, loading IR files or updating internal software. You can also use the USB connection to turn your Gigboard into a true 24-bit/96kHz sound card with recording or reamplification capabilities.
