Vic Firth - 5B American Classic Hickory
A programmed evolution. The 5B has not always been the standard in the hands of drummers, and it can even be said that the length and thickness of the sticks has evolved a lot since the jazz era and the beginnings of rock n' roll. There are two reasons for this. The first one is that the cymbals were thinner, and that the drummers were looking for the bounce, with a rather short length and a very tapered neck. The second is that the amplification was not yet at its peak, and the music didn't need a very high sound level for the drums. Today, the Vic Firth 5B are adopted by a large majority of musicians. A fleshy body to be desired. The relationship to the instrument having thus radically changed, the drummer demands less use of rebound, and therefore of his fingers. It is quite naturally that a manufacturer like Vic Firth, always attentive to the demands of instrumentalists, developed from the 1970s onwards models generating more power, with a shorter neck and a neck that fits well in a closed hand. The result is a hickory stick with a forward weight and a tear-shaped olive. Enough to hit a thousand times without ever having to force it. An unfailing quality. If all the quality parameters were not met, all this would be in vain. And yet, in this matter, it's a little Vic Firth who sets the tone. Whether it is the origin of the wood, the perfect size of the sticks, the varnish (neither too thin nor too thick) or the pairing, everything is done to deliver the best to the user. In terms of solidity, the blows can be delivered without fear, especially with a supple and ample gesture. Even for a hard game, these 5Bs will last a very long time!

Vic Firth - 8D American Classic Hickory
For drummers looking for a light wand. If you play jazz, pop or funk music and want to keep it light, the 8D model is the solution that will meet all your expectations! This model has all the features that have made the Vic Firth brand famous, i.e. a handle that fits well in the hand, a balanced weight, a profile cut for all electric music and a tear-shaped olive that is suitable for all types of cymbals and skins. An undeniable quality. With the American Classic series, which includes about thirty different references, we are dealing with a hyper accomplished production. Is it worth mentioning that, at Vic Firth, the quality of the wood is never lacking, that the sticks are perfectly straight, and above all, that they are matched with non-negotiable criteria of exigency and precision? Kitsch aficionados will appreciate to learn that this series includes models in exquisite black and...pink colours! A musician first and foremost. Prior to leading the brand that still bears his name today, the late Vic Firth was first and foremost an accomplished percussionist who practiced his art under the tutelage of the greatest conductors in the Boston Symphony Orchestra. His first pair of sticks was designed to meet the needs of a piece of music for which he wanted a special sound and feel. Assisted by the world's greatest drummers, the brand's designers have maintained this requirement in order to market - among others - the American Classic series, which includes the basis of models designed to adapt to each hand and, above all, to each musical context.
